Dr. Takayuki Shindo
Postdoc fellow (MPIZ)
Tel: +49 221 5062 256
E-mail: shindo[a]mpiz-koeln.mpg.de

Takayuki is from Japan. After his PhD on the role of Arabidopsis RD21 protease he stayed as a postdoc to establish a pipeline for identifying pathogen-derived inhibitors that target Arabidopsis enzymes using competitive ABPP.

Farnusch Dr. Farnusch Kaschani
Postdoc (DFG)
Tel: +49 221 5062 256/276
Email: kaschani[a]mpiz-koeln.mpg.de

Farnusch is a German/Iranian postdoc who has a background in organic chemistry did his PhD in plant biochemistry. He established in vivo labeling using click-chemistry, worked on Ser hydrolase profiling and is now studying the role of a protease inhibitior of Pseudomonas syringae.
Dr. Adriana Pruzinska
Postdoc (Humboldt)
Tel: +49 221 5062 256/276
Email: pruzinsk[a]mpiz-koeln.mpg.de

Adriana is from Slowakia and uses activity-based profiling to investigate proteolytic mechanisms during leaf senescence.

 Christian Gu
PhD student (IMPRS)
Tel: +49 221 5062 256/276
Email: gu[a]mpiz-koeln.mpg.de

Christian is from Beijing, China and establishes and applies activity-based profiling with novel probes on extracts from Arabidopsis tissues infected with Pseudomonas syringae or Botrytis cinerea. The differential activities are further investigated through reverse genetic and chemetic approaches.
 Johana Misas
PhD student (DAAD)
Tel: +49 221 5062 266/276
Email: misas[a]mpiz-koeln.mpg.de

Johana is from Bogota, Colombia and studies the role of the proteasome and vacuolar processing enzymes during infection with bacterial and oomycete pathogens.
 Dr. Kerstin Richau
Postdoc (DFG-AFGN)
Tel: +49 221 5062 256/276
Email: richau[a]mpiz-koeln.mpg.de

Kerstin grew up in Germany and did her PhD in Amsterdam. As a postdoc in the Plant Chemetics lab she is identifying, confirming and characterizing 1001 targets of activity-based probes of Arabidopsis within the framework of the Arabidopsis Functional Genomics Network (AFGN).
 Dr. Izabella Kolodziejek
Postdoctoral fellow (CGC)
Tel: +49 221 5062 266/276
Email: ikolo[a]mpiz-koeln.mpg.de

Izabella is a cell biologist from Warsaw, Poland. She is establishing activity-based imaging in plants using fluorescent activity-based probes and using click-chemistry on fixed tissues to investigate the subcellular localization of active enzymes in (pathogen-infected) plant tissues.

Dr. Tom Colby
Postdoc (DFG-AFGN)
Tel: +49 221 5062 235/226
Email: colby[a]mpiz-koeln.mpg.de

Tom Colby works in the MS group at the MPIZ institute. Within the framework of the Arabidopsis Functional Genomics Network (AFGN), he is identifying proteins that are labeled by activity-based probes and launching an open-source, searchable database for protein activities of Arabidopsis.

Sabrina Nickel
PhD student (DFG-AFGN)
Tel: +49 231 133 2964
Email: sabrina.nickel[a]cgc.mpg.de

Sabrina does her PhD in Chemical Biology in Dortmund and works at the CGC in Dortmund in the group of Dr. Markus Kaiser. She develops new and existing activity-based probes for the framework of the Arabidopsis Functional Genomics Network (AFGN).
 Ilyas Muhammad
PhD student (DAAD)
Tel: +49 221 5062 266/276
Email: ilyas[a]mpiz-koeln.mpg.de

Ilyas is from Pakistan and investigates the role of tomato papain-like cysteine proteases in pathogen defence using reverse genetics and activity-based profiling.
 Selva Kumari
PhD student (IMPRS)
Tel: +49 221 5062 256/276
Email: selva[a]mpiz-koeln.mpg.de

Selva is from South India and investigates protease-inhibitor complexes at the plant-pathogen interface by crystallography in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Mariusz Jaskolski (Poznan, Poland).

Bikram Pandey
